Why do I read?

I have been asked the question of why I read. I read because I love to get lost in books. I could spend hours upon hours reading and understanding anything in the book and never get bored of reading it. Also, I like to read to get new information in which I already have not grasped my knowledge on. I like this concept because these authors use such good diction and syntax that is not really appreciated by much readers, but I totally understand the trouble the authors go through to pick the perfect word out of many. I also read for sheer pleasure, I don't just read because I have to, I read because I want to, and it makes it so much easier for me to understand.

Reading also takes my mind of off the stress of things, considering that I do have high anxieties, it just helps me to release my anxiety and focus on something else at the moment, which really helps me a lot. I enjoy what I vision while reading books, before the movies come out, I can visualize in my head what the scenes look like, then go see the movie and be totally surprised. Overall, reading for me is fun, and its very interesting to grasp the concept of.
